What is Amazon Athena?
Amazon Athena is a serverless interactive query service that uses standard SQL to analyze data stored in Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). As a part of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) stack, it works directly with data stored in S3, so to get started you just need to define your schema and start querying.
Amazon Athena uses Presto with full standard SQL support and works with a variety of standard data formats, including CSV, JSON, ORC, Apache Parquet and Avro. Athena can process unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data sets, and you can use it to run ad-hoc queries using ANSI SQL, without the need to aggregate or load the data into the service itself.
You can also use Amazon Athena to generate reports or to explore data with business intelligence tools or SQL clients, connected via an ODBC or JDBC driver.

Get the most out of Amazon Athena with Adverity
With our data connector you can fetch all your data and results from queries directly from Amazon Athena into Adverity, without the need to move the data to any other location or to use raw data directly from your S3 storage.
Once all data and query results from Athena are in Adverity, you can further process, analyze, and harmonize all data from Athena with data coming from other sources, to create a complete overview of your marketing and business performance.
Also, you can use Adverity to collect and harmonize data from all your data sources, and then send it to Amazon Athena for further analysis. Our data integration module can extract and transform data from various marketing platforms, and then load it directly into your S3 storage as a data destination, from where you can easily use this dataset and analyze it in more detail in Athena.
Besides Athena, Adverity supports a whole range of Amazon services and products: you can store data in Amazon Redshift, send data to or load data from AWS S3 storage, or collect advertising or online sales performance data from various Amazon platforms, such as Amazon Advertising or Amazon Marketplace, for further processing and analysis.
Adverity is a proud member of the AWS Partner Network, and the first company in Austria to achieve AWS Digital Customer Experience Competency.
