At a glance
- Airbyte is a DIY tool that allows for the ingestion and transfer of data to primarily databases and data warehouses. It is aimed to be friendly for developers who wish to build and edit their own connectors as well as deploy DBT transformations.
- However- the range of use cases that can be served from within the platform are limited, with the absence of no-code transformations, data exploration, and data governance functionality.

Adverity vs Airbyte - in depth
Connectors
Airbyte lists 550+ connectors but many of these are in the Alpha stages and not all connectors are available on all plans with some only being available on cloud subscriptions and others on self-managed plans.
Adverity has more than 600 connectors with a strong focus on marketing data sources. With the option to also use various ‘universal connectors’ you can connect to almost any data source you need.

No-code/low-code?
In Airbyte, all data transformations are done using DBT code/SQL within DBT which means there are a wide range of transformations that can be performed by coding expertise is required to execute them.
Meanwhile, Adverity provides a range of prebuilt yet powerful data transformations that cover a range of use cases including Smart Naming Conventions, Currency Conversion, and Joining Datastreams/Datasets. Skilled coders can build their own custom transformations while less technical users have the option of using our AI-powered Enrichment CoPilot to achieve the same. With Instant Schema Mapping, blending your data as it’s ingested is easy with automapping, in-built suggestions, and robust governance controls.
Data Exploration
You cannot explore ingested data within Airbyte either in table form or through visualizations.
Adverity offers data exploration options meaning you can instantly check and review your data even before you send it to its final destination.

Destinations
It’s always important to have the flexibility to send your data where you need it. Airbyte offers 50+ native destinations you can send your ingested data to but the vast majority of these are in Alpha or Beta and are either data warehouses, datalakes or databases. To send data to Tableau, data must be sent to a PostGres SQL database first.
With Adverity's wider selection of destinations, you have increased versatility in sharing your data wherever you need it.
In summary
Airbyte is a simple data pipeline tool for automating the extraction of data to the selected destinations.
However, with a smaller range of out-of-the-box connectors and the prerequisite coding knowledge required to perform transformations, this means that the range of use cases as well as accessibility Airbyte offers is limited.
Adverity provides a more sophisticated integrated data platform with not only a wider collection of robust data connectors but also a range of simple to complex transformations that are accessible to all users - regardless of technical skill.
Lastly, Adverity users have a greater degree of control over their data quality, with the option to use AI to guarantee that data shared with their destinations leads to superior insights and business decisions.
