BYOS GBQ + Warehouse per workspace

Product update: August 5, 2025

Author: Dayo Fordah

Introducing GBQ support for Bring your own storage & Warehouse per Workspace

Earlier this year, we enabled Bring Your Own Storage for Snowflake users, and now this option is extended to Google Big Query users.

This means Adverity users can host their data on GBQ for:

  • Access to all Adverity features like automated data mapping, AI-powered
    transformations, data quality monitoring, etc.
  • Improved control over the data pipeline
  • Easier compliance with data governance/ownership policies and security protocols
  • The ability to provide non-technical users with access to data without supplying full warehouse access

Warehouse per Workspace - a scalable solution for larger and growing businesses

Users can also assign an individual warehouse to each workspace when hosting data on Adverity.

The following use cases for this feature have been provided by our customers:

Agencies:

  • For a workspace specific to a client, that requires an accompanying dedicated warehouse, which may be hosted by the client itself.

Enterprises:

  • Enterprise customers that require a different warehouse configuration for each vendor they use.
  • The need to split data based on subsidiaries/countries that are not allowed to share and host data in certain regions.
  • A requirement for different warehouses based on the business units/products they develop.

Users that opt to take advantage of this feature benefit from the following:

1. Improved Governance and Access Control

Assigning each workspace its own warehouse ensures strong data isolation and user access control, significantly reducing the risk of data leakage, unauthorized access, or cross-team interference, crucial for both security and compliance.

2. Enhanced Scalability and Performance

Each workspace can scale its warehouse independently, optimizing performance for its specific needs without impacting others.

3. Flexibility in Data Management

Different teams, business units, clients, etc., can use different schemas, data retention policies, or data ingestion schedules without interfering with one another. This autonomy allows for more agile development and experimentation, especially in sandbox or development environments.

----------------
In summary, using a different warehouse per workspace enhances security, governance, and operational agility, especially in larger or more complex organizations.
